Epako is the perfect safari holiday destination. It covers a large area of beautiful, untamed Namibian bushveld (11 000 ha) and contains over 2000 animals.
The lodge boasts a wide variety of African wildlife including Giraffe, Elephant, Rhinos, Cheetahs, Leopards, Gnus (blue and black), Impalas, Springbuck, Waterbuck, Eland, Hartebeest, Zebras, Ostriches, Klipspringer, Dik-diks, Steenboks, Kudus, Oryx, Caracals and Jackals. At least 170 species of birds have been identified.
Our Namibian guides have been specially trained on African wildlife, birds, plants and trees, geological formations and hospitality. They speak English, Herero and Afrikaans as well as a few words of French and German. They will ensure that your holiday experience is pleasant and will keep you informed.
Safari game drives are 3 hours long and can be enjoyed at any time during your holiday in the morning or afternoon.
Morning Game Drive (8h00/8h30)
Enjoy the morning looking out for animals and visiting the vivid Bushman paintings and Engravings.
Afternoon Game Drive (3h30/4h30)
Experience cheetah feeding, spot the white rhinos, look for animals in the riverbed and finally enjoy a sundowner on one of Epako’s mountains.
Epako lodge also offers game viewing from both the inside and outside dining area which overlooks a waterhole. The waterhole is lit up at night and frequented by many of the lodge's animals. Various areas around Epako also offer expansive views over the bushveld.
A hiking trail, for those whose holiday stay is at least two nights, takes you up to the top of one of Namibia's mountains for sundowners and beautiful views of the surrounding bush.
